My Story…

I was born in Yugoslavia, raised in Slovenia, and lived all over the world:

I studied for a semester in Germany, wrote my thesis in Singapore, worked for a year in New Zealand, traveled, collaborated on different social/educational projects around South America, lived for more than four years in Cali, Colombia, worked a season on the Kos island of Greece, returned to Slovenia, and ended up in Barcelona, Spain.

A long journey of self and world discovery shaped me into who I am right now. I gained a deeper respect and understanding of the cultural and personal diversity around us.

I became very empathic, practical, and adaptable.

I found and started to live my element, with the words of dear Sir Ken Robinson, or my purpose according to Ikigai: to improve my life and others through movement, dance, and education.

To get to know me a bit better:

Teaching/education, dance and arts have been my

passions since I was a child (a very curious and active one, according to my

mother): I used every opportunity to do a show or put someone at a “school desk”.

After secondary school, I studied pedagogy and sociology and finished with two

theses first one on international education and the second one on multicultural

families.

I was working for a couple of years in primary schools, on educational projects, and

in dance schools in my hometown Maribor. My main area in these years has been

vulnerable groups of students with learning, emotional, and social problems, as

well as migrant students and families.

I worked as well in the EU program: Raising Social and Cultural Capital in Primary

Schools.

As a dancer and dance teacher on the side, I also got to organize school events and

performances, which I loved to do.

In my first working years, I added Dance and creative movement certification and

did a couple of seminars on Art Therapy organized by JSKD Slovenia.

In the 4+ years in Cali, Colombia, I studied hard and became a salsa dancer and

teacher and broadened my horizons with other dance styles. Throughout all my

time in Cali I volunteered with the Foundation Casa Naranja as a dance teacher and

choreographer.

In Colombia I ended up working as an English through the arts teacher at the Cali

Waldorf school for a year, and then I joined the National program for Bilingual

education with the Ministry of Education of Colombia. In this last teaching job I got

unforgettable experiences.

In September 2019, I returned to Slovenia and spent the next 3 “Covid-marked”

years working between primary schools, as a support teacher, dance schools,

summer camps for kids, and dance and educational workshops in person and

online. Here, I added a Pilates Instructor Certificate as it was part of my life, and I

wanted to start to share the benefits of this practice with others.

Since 2022, I have been living and working in Barcelona. I moved to Barcelona to

start and work on a dance school project by the world-renowned dancer Steffany

Moreno: EMD studio. Being an educator, dance teacher, and mentor for many

students over the years, doing a Coaching certification in 2023, to add some extra

value to the work, came naturally to me.

Since 2023, I have been working as a freelancer in Barcelona (and online) between

education, dance/movement/Pilates, coaching, and also truism/events.

As you can see, I may offer more than 20 years of experience from very different

cultural contexts and areas.

I am looking forward to working and collaborating with schools, companies,

organizations/foundations, and individuals with whom I share the same values, who

have a positive impact on life and work, and whose goals/objectives are aligned

with mine.

I do and offer a broad variety of services and products – feel more than welcome to

check them out and to reach out via the “Contact Me”.

My purpose is very clear: to inspire and improve the quality of life of others, as of

my own, through educating/coaching and movement/dance.
